Preserving and Enhancing Downtown Siloam Springs

Revitalizing historic downtown with Main Street Siloam Springs

The Walton Family Foundation Home Region’s strategic plan emphasizes investments in several key areas including economic development and in preserving a sense of place. Each investment opportunity is carefully considered to ensure that established objectives are achieved. One such success story is Main Street Siloam Springs.

In July 2014, the foundation provided a $100,000 grant to Main Street Siloam Springs for the development of a Downtown Master Plan for improvements to downtown and to connect the area to other major assets in Siloam Springs. Today, the plan is being implemented. Ground has been broken on a new 18,000-square-foot library, a large mural project was created as part of a public arts initiative, and bicycle racks have been installed in the historic downtown.

The Walton Family Foundation grant solidified our enthusiasm into an actionable plan. It was remarkable to see the energy and drive that arose from residents representing different sectors of our community.
